Artist's Description
This award winning photograph can be seen in the permanent collection at the Holland Area Arts Council. I was on a photography vacation in the Owen Sound Ontario area and ventured out one day to photograph Eugenia Falls. It was late December and the combination of cold snowy days followed by sunny days with no strong winds gave this photographer beautiful snow and ice formations that dangled from both natural and man-made outcroppings. Eugenia Falls is seen from the top with a charming little farm close to the parking area. At this little farm I spied a shed with attached gate where the owner had artfully left the old gate open a crack. The shed, gate, fence post, and dangling snow drifts made for an irresistible composition. Using the tilt and shift options on my Linhof Technica I was pleased to see, through my reflex viewer, a picture that evoked a feeling of nostalgia for the simpler gentler years of my youth.
