It’s no wonder that John and Patsy Ramsey left Boulder Colorado and settled in Charlevoix Michigan after the horrendous murder of their beauty queen daughter JonBenet Ramsey. Charlevoix is about as peaceful and lovely a town as you’ll find on the planet. From the charming downtown to the amazing homes of Boulder Park to beautiful Lake Charlevoix the area doesn’t disappoint those who make the long trip to the 45th parallel of west Michigan. I was circumnavigating Lake Charlevoix along Route 66 catching glimpses of the South Arm of the lake every few seconds between clearings in the densely forested shore when I saw a Sea-Doo docked at the end of a ‘Z’ shaped dock. I stopped, grabbed my trusty Nikon and descended along a path toward the lake. It was private property and I got ready to come forth with one of my mollifying spiels about doing a photographic portfolio to the property owner but was spared the task and allowed to take my time to find a couple of primo spots to capture the wate...
