Artist's Description

With photography I’ve experimented with about everything including oddball films. I heard the legends about the amazing fine grain and high contrast one gets with low ASA (now ISO) film. These films are called ‘slow’ films and I went for the lowest and slowest I could get. I ended up with ASA 16. Of the fun images I captured ‘Into the Light’ is my favorite. Handheld photography is not an option with the slow films unless you like fuzzy focus. I was living in Homewood Illinois and I went to a favorite local park with a roll of ASA 16 film loaded into my Fujica camera on my Gitzo tripod. I set up the camera between the railroad tracks and triggered the 10 second Self Timer. Then I ran away from the camera and up the tracks. Of the several shots I did my favorite is this one where I’m about halfway through the tunnel.
