Artist's Description
Bay City Michigan celebrates its short summers with many events. Veterans Memorial Park resides along the Saginaw River and is the venue for the annual Skerbeck Carnival. I had attended a weekend canoe trip in northern Michigan and was meandering my way back to Birmingham by way of Bay City when my attention was grabbed by the kinetic glow of a carnival. I scouted around the event and finally decided to set up my trusty Linhof on Gitzo tripod on the hill that overlooks the carnival. To my right I noticed that fog was coming in off the river and bathing the park with a bluish haze. On this warm summer evening I shared the perfectly coiffed grassy hill with many other carnival lovers.
