Artist's Description
Bayview is an unincorporated resort community in northern Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan. Located in Emmet County in Bear Creek Township on Little Traverse Bay, the northern suburb of the city of Petoskey was originally formed as a Methodist church camp. Most famous for its perfectly quaffed late Victorian cottages, the community also hosts two hotels, a restaurant, a post office, beach property, a children's pool, and a sail house. Of its 440 cottages, 1794 Bayview is perhaps my favorite. This photograph was taken in mid summer and shows the awesome cottage wreathed in lush foliage and decked out in full Fourth of July regalia.
