In northern Michigan there’s a twenty mile stretch of meandering two lane road from Harbor Springs to Cross Village. This incredible section of Highway 119 is called the 'Tunnel of Trees'- it serpentines along the top of a dune, punctuated by hairpin turns and roller coaster dips. Periodically the trees give way to a clearing that acts as a stage to present a show of lush cool season grasses and wildflowers. In early Spring the main actor is the glorious trillium flower.
