My most popular photograph is Munfordville Sonic Drive-In. It gets more hits than all the rest of my photographs combined and also earned me the highest award I�ve ever won. But it�s not the only really cool Sonic Drive-In to be found in Kentucky. NOOOO�There�s another one in Bowling Green, the home of the Corvette. As with the Munfordville Sonic Drive-In I arrived one evening just after a rain storm had blessed the parking lot with a wondrous mirror finish. The best angle had me positioned in a triangular parking lot island with view camera perched above a shrub with tripod legs kissing the prickly base of the unfortunate plant. It wasn�t easy to find the best blend of focal plane tilt and swing to get both the row of menu pendant boards and flaming pavement into focus. I was glad I had both a Beattie Intenscreen and fresnel lens on my reflex housing ground glass. Even with the optimum focal plane orientation I knew the shot required a tiny aperture...
