In late November the first snowfall of the season dots Ottawa Beach at Holland State Park. Just a few short months ago the beach was dotted with the sandcastle creations of giggling children while sun worshippers peered out over the freshwater sea to watch sailboats lazily drift like swans on a rural pond. Now only Big Red and foolish photographers brave the arctic wind.
