Description
Narada Falls is a 168 foot waterfall in Mount Ranier National Park. Named after the Theosophical Society of Tacoma, the word ‘narada’ is the Hindu word for pure. It is said by photographers that Narada Falls is best filmed in the morning. I had only two days at the photographer’s smorgasbord called Mount Ranier and had to be content with the lighting I got when arriving at the falls in mid afternoon. Rather than being disappointed, I liked the light which was just vertical enough to grace the falls with streaming highlights, illuminate the pool at the base, and present the cavern behind the falls in textured shadows. If you’re ever at Mount Ranier, see Narada Falls.
