Description
I’ve often said that I have a big problem with photographing Chicago- where DON’T I point my camera! Everywhere I look there’s a photographic possibility. Looking north from the corner of East Harrison at Wabash one can experience the essence of Chicago’s famous Loop. I was looking for the best angle of view to capture the urban wonder when I spied the pretty little redhead in the Sarah K. Bierman photograph staring at me and next to her was the Coor’s guy wiping frost from a giant bottle of beer. I setup my baby view camera on Gitzo tripod and waited for the next northbound train to round the curvy tracks. I lucked out. When the train got to the primo spot an African American gentleman in all white garb was moving toward me and was also in a primo spot. I snapped the shutter and felt the exhilaration I get when I know I’ve snatched a winner. Once home I decided to Photoshop the image for a cartoonish flavor and selected low midtone contrast with full color saturation.
