In 1991 I was working in Troy Michigan. On the weekends I made the three hour drive up to Gaylord to woo my future wife Kristina. As I tended to do whenever I got the urge, or when I became aware of a nearby photographic Wunderland, I would disappear and go off on a ‘must photograph’ excursion. I had spied Gaylord Pontiac decked out in all its Christmas regalia when Kris and I were working our way back to her place after catching dinner at a local restaurant. It was late on a Saturday night when the town’s two cop cars were nowhere to be seen when I setup my Plaubel Makina medium format camera on Gitzo tripod and bracketed off a set of shots. ‘Twas a simpler more innocent time back then.
