Northern Indiana has an area commonly called ‘Amish Country’ which I visited in the summer of 2015. Taking a motel room in Shipshewana, I drank in the bucolic countyside and nearby towns. Many of the stores have segmented parking lots with a section for cars and a section for horse and buggy. I was impressed by the handsome healthy horses and the cheerful attitude of the Amish people.
